Submarine Waikiki, Hawaii:
Journey into
a spectacular blue world more than 100 feet below the surface of Waikiki in
the world’s most technologically advanced passenger submarine.
You’ll see many types of colorful fish.
You may even see a Hawaiian green sea turtle, a moray eel, a shark or
even an octopus. Passengers will
also cruise past a World War II U.S. Navy tanker and a Korean fishing vessel.
To get to the check-in
pier, park at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
(Hilton Hawaiian Village is located on Kalia Road.)
From the parking lot, head towards the beach in front of Alii Tower to
check in. After you check in,
head for the pier to get your boarding pass.
While waiting for your ferry, you can sit under the open air, covered
pier with views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach.
On the transport ferry, you will watch a 5 minute video instructing
you on the safety procedures of the ferry and the sub.
The 10 minute ferry ride will take you to your submarine dive site.
Once there, you will disembark from the ferry and board the sub.
Climb down the hatch and be prepared for your undersea adventure!
Restrictions:
Passengers
must be physically capable of ascending and descending a narrow ladder.
Children must be 36" or taller.

Hints |
Use
the restroom at beach, hotel or on the ferry, as there are no facilities on
the sub. For those prone to motion sickness, take Dramamine or sit on the top
deck. (Don't worry, motion sickness bags are available on the ferry and
subs.) Photo Tips: Use 400ASA to 1000ASA film without flash if shooting
through the view ports. Bring a jacket the submarine gets cold!
Hint - The earlier dive
times are better because the sun shines directly overhead, at 100 feet below
the surface the sun can supplement the submarines exterior lighting...in
other words you might see a little better.
